What is a driver
The driver is generally used for tee shots and is the easiest to hit the distance. In golf clubs, it is characterized by a large head and light weight. Therefore, the swing radius is the largest, and the swing speed is easily increased.
On the court, there's nothing more satisfying than hitting a straight, long tee shot.
How to choose a driver
Weight
There are many models of drivers, and their weights vary. The heavier the total weight, the harder it is to swing, but it has the advantage of making the swing more stable.
In theory, the lighter the shaft, the faster the swing speed, so many Japanese clubs have very light shafts. While light shafts allow users to swing faster, they can also lead to unstable swings.
If it is too heavy, it may cause flying and slowing down. If you are confident in your physical strength, we recommend that you choose a golf club that weighs 305 grams or more.
Face Angle
The driver face has an angle called "loft." Each model has a different angle, and flat objects with less inclination are characterized by the ability to fly down and forward.
In order to select the proper driver face angle, golfers need to understand their own swing characteristics. The angle formed between the forward path of the club head and the target line during a swing is called the angle of attack. There are positive angles of attack from bottom to top, zero angles of attack for flat play, and negative angles of attack from top to bottom.
The specific way to judge is that if your driver hits the sweet spot at an angle lower than the angle marked by the club, then your swing must be a negative angle of attack, and vice versa.
In order to generate the proper trajectory, golfers with a negative angle of attack should choose a club with a larger loft, while golfers with a positive angle of attack can choose different loft angles to optimize their driving distance according to their needs.
Many golfers may not know what angle of attack their swing will produce. On the other hand, for beginners, a ball with a high pitch is recommended, as the ball tends to rise very high.
If more than half of the driving distance is more than 260 yards, it is more appropriate to choose a face of about 9 degrees, otherwise it is more appropriate to choose a face of about 10 degrees.
Shaft Type
Drivers with steel shafts are characterized by light weight and excellent stability. It doesn't wobble easily even if you swing it hard, which is attractive.
On the other hand, a driver with a carbon shaft is light, so the head speed is fast, and the point is that it is easy to hit long distances.
Length
In fact, length has a huge impact on our shots. If you want to hit the ball solidly, hit the sweet spot of the club head, and want your swing to play the longest distance, then you must have A club that fits your length.
Who is suitable for a short driver? (45 inches or below)
Unstable swing
Not Sweet
The driver is already too far away, dozens of yards farther than his friends (but not stable)
The release is earlier, but the inside-out is too large, which is prone to left-curvature problems
Low ballistic
Who is suitable for a long driver? (46 inches or above)
Smooth Swing
Playing sweet is not a problem, but the distance is not enough
The release is late, but the outside-in is too large, which is prone to right-curve problems.
High Ballistic
