How many clubs should I bring to the practice range?

2022-01-13

For advanced class golfers, it's a good idea to bring the full kit to the practice range. But for junior and middle-level golfers, even if they bring a whole set, they may not have enough time and energy to practice all in place.

1. Advice for beginners

1) In the initial stage of learning the basics of swing, you only need to bring an iron. Sizes 6, 7, and 8 are all good choices. People often say it's good to practice with a 7 to begin with.

2) After learning how to play different clubs, you can carry a wedge, a short iron, driver or fairway wood, and putter.

2. Advice for intermediate golfers

1) Under normal circumstances it is probably the following combination: s, short irons (p or w), medium irons (6 or 7 or 8), fairway wood (3 or 5), driver, putter (if there is a green if)

2) If you want to practice every shot well, but don't want the hassle of carrying a full set. Odd and even clubs can be used.

For example, this time carry p or w, 3 or 5 wood, driver, 3 iron, 7 iron, 9 iron.

Next time bring p or w, 3 or 5 wood, driver, 4 iron, 6 iron, 8 iron.
